The Hiring Games

By: Kristi Spargo

There’s nothing quite like the moment when I had to inform an employee that they have unpleasant body odor and needed to wear deodorant. Or the moment when I politely requested an employee to please leave their half-shirts at home and try to step up their office apparel to include pants without holes.  Memorable indeed.  It’s been over a decade since I worked in human resources but I’ll never forget the sinking feeling in my stomach, the nerves gripping my throat, my cheeks flushing and my verbal skills deteriorating to a lot of “umms” and “yeahs” during these awkward conversations.  Continue reading The Hiring Games

Choosing your Main Sales Model… We Choose Customer Service

By: Lisa Kamper

One of the most frustrating things to me today as a Phonecustomer/consumer is when I call a company and an automated operator tells me to select one of the following options. Being Part of an Organization; Benefits You…

By: Malarie Barineau

When joining an organization it’s important to ask yourself how will this benefit me personally, professionally and how can I maximize value.

I recently joined the Junior League of Tallahassee (JLT) and I can already say I’m looking forward to what this next year has in store for me and it hasn’t even begun yet! The organization has more than 500 members, promotes community projects to help children and families such as opportunities to succeed in school through health, self-esteem and basic needs. The membership is comprised of executives, homemakers, teachers, entrepreneurs and more, all women dedicated to making the Tallahassee community better.   Continue reading Being Part of an Organization; Benefits You…
